Amex Golf Sponsor Strategy

American Express Changes its Golf Sponsorship Strategy

Amex Golf Sponship American Express is now an official patron of the PGA of America.

Recently America Express ditched Tiger Woods and the tournament that he won 5 times.  This relationship had lasted a decade after Tiger Woods signed two five year deals.

Now AMEX will have access to Ryders Cup Tickets from next month amongst other parts of the PGA of America deal.

The Tiger deal was pretty good for all involved but it had run its course and wasn’t really hitting the demographic sweet spot so AMEX decided to downsize.

Overall Golf will probably fair better with this arrangement.
