12 year olds Pearl Jin and Alexis Thompson go head to head at U.S. Women's Amateur golf championship
12 year olds Pearl Jin and Alexis Thompson will face off against each other in the U.S. Women’s Amateur Golf Tournament.
The tournament has been going for 106 years and never in that time has a pre-teen reached match play.
Pearl Jin held off 20 year old Ashley Tait and Alexis Thompson from Coral Springs Florida also made it through.
“I was a little nervous when it all started, but I’ve gotten used to it,” Thompson said of her full schedule this summer. “In these golf tournaments, I just go out there and play my game and don’t worry about anything else and hope for the best.”
Pearl Jin is also a black belt in Tae Kwon Doe and took up golf at the age of 8.
