Tiger Woods hits 63 To Take The Lead and Match The Major Championship Record
Tiger Woods beat his previous best of 64 with a major championship record equaling 63 at the Southern Hills Country Club to take the lead of the USPGA Championship.
In the blistering heat which has been well in the hundreds Woods watched as a 15 foot birdy lipped out meaning he missed out on setting a new record.
Tiger Woods is now two ahead of 43 year old diabetic Scott Verplank and 3 ahead of Aussie Geoff Ogilvy.
Early on John Daly led the way but a nonchalant effort saw him slip to 1 over 74 while Tiger Woods took control with some hot form in blistering hot weather.
